The Bowen Technique
I have also became a Bowen therapist which is a gentle, non-invasive, holistic therapy consisting of a sequence of gentle moves over soft tissue, interspersed with periods of rest.
The Bowen technique encourages realignment of the body; there is no manipulation of hard tissue and no force is used or needed. During treatments, I will leave the room periodically to allow the client to rest. This allows the body to respond to the moves already performed and makes subtle adjustments to initiate the healing process.
IT CAN HELP
Although Bowen is more typically known for its success in the treatment of muscular skeletal imbalances such as neck, back and shoulder problems, it can be used effectively for a whole range of physical, emotional and stress related conditions. It is effective for asthma and other chest problems, fibromyalgia and other connective tissue type diseases.
When booking a Bowen treatment for the first time, it is recommended that you plan to attend two treatment sessions, approximately one week apart. This allows the practitioner to assess your initial response to the technique and follow up the first treatments accordingly. If further appoints are indicated, they can be arranged at the second appointment.
